Bittersweet Takes a Load Off and Lets Their Hair Down!
Right before we all rang in the 2008 New Year, Bittersweet's staff was celebrating our most successful year yet at the annual Holiday Party. Santa, Dora the Explorer and even the Grinch were here in the Bittersweet Cafe for all the festivities. Our exceptional employees were all honored, while the kiddies, and we mean all the kiddies, were entertained. Food, drinks, and laughs were had by all while others strutted their stuff on our dance floor. It was a real hoot!

These enclosed sandwiches are stuffed with cheese, meat, and veggies wrapped in our homemade crusty dough... our mouths water just thinking about it. January is Rosemary Month
Rosemary the aromatic evergreen has been designated its own month, January. Rosemary grows wild in warm, dry climates worldwide. It is a member of the mint family, joining it with lavender (there is a resemblance I must say). Rosemary contains stiff needle-like leaves, and again is very aromatic, might even be mistaken for pine if glanced at quickly.
Like most herbs, fresh is the best. Fresh rosemary should not be brittle or dry. Rosemary is usually minced finely when added to a variety of dishes, but can be dropped as a whole into stews and soups. Rosemary has been known to help treat migraines and joint pains, as well as to improve symptoms of poor circulation. Rosemary’s aroma, as well as calming abilities, gives you a feeling of comfort food and relaxing warmth. This may be why January is a great month to highlight such an herb.
