Glad You Asked!Answering those burning questions frequently asked Why should buttercream sit at room temperature 30 minutes prior to eating?With February being one of our highest dessert selling months, we thought we'd address this question head on. Our baked goods that include buttercream are made with real butter, cream, and milk - which should always be stored under refrigeration, no question about it. We recommend your buttercreamed treat sit outside of direct heat/cold for 30-45 minutes to enjoy the truly delicious taste Bittersweet has to offer. Why?This will make it easier to slice, and will let the buttercream develop its desired texture and flavor. Buttercream is made with two key ingredients - fat (butter) and sugar. Butter melts at a lower temperature, and sugar at a higher temperature; the cooling of both results in a hard texture and at cooler temperatures flavors tend to dull as well. When cold, buttercream can cut and appear to look just like a stick of butter, and when too warm, will melt and become inedible. We promise you the taste is worth the wait!
