Runners Up RumBittersweet took 2nd at the 4th Annual Rum Punch Challenge held at Gadsby’s Tavern Saturday, March 29th, with our very own creation...Lemon Pie Punch. We were told by some guests that our punch was “light, refreshing, and dangerous”- all good marks in our book. The event was attended by a sold out crowd with all the proceeds going towards Gadsby’s preservation and educational efforts. Our very own Lena Teveris worked our table and accepted our runner’s up prize. By three votes, first prize went to Dogfish Brewing Co., the 2005 winner...this has become a rivalry of sorts. But Bittersweet will prevail and be back next year to hopefully reclaim our 2007 first place title. In the meantime you all may give our swirl a try; we suggest sipping it on a warm spring or summer afternoon relaxin’. Click here for our Lemon Pie Punch recipe! Give our Lemon Pie a try. We are excited to announce that Bittersweet Cafe is now offering coffee from the locally based M. E. Swing Coffee Roasters. Locally brewed, organic, and fair trade...we couldn’t get any greener on this one. If our resident coffee lover; a west coast gal, loves it, it has to be good. Being a small business we love supporting quality goods from local vendors, and we welcome M.E. Swing’s into our family. We also love the fact that it is organic--mucho eco-friendly, as well as it being certified fair trade. Stop by and give the tasty, fairly-traded, and eco-friendly brew a try. On your way home, and have no idea what’s for dinner? Or are you like me and like to save money any possible way?
